Filis, indicios de mujer! Previno,
que no idolatren en mi fe las gentes;
si alterado de humanos accidentes
desmiente lo inmortal, y lo divino,
¡o milagro del uso peregrino!
Que así al sentido de la vista mientes,
en tu virtud de afectos diferentes
la voluntaria conjunción convino.
Tu deslumbraste en éxtasis hermoso
la vista de los ojos celestiales
y formó las ideas el deseo.
Al espejo del trato fabuloso,
que se ven en sus mágicos cristales,
ni necio Midas, ni Vulcano feo.
