de ningún fuego artificial tocado,
Filis, el infelice fulminado,
era superstición, pero decente.
Como el castigo, que al rigor clemente
de tu deidad estaba destinado
(por el injusto disponer del Hado)
a sacrílego brazo se consiente?
Permitiendo a la culpa, que había sido
de tus divinos rayos prevenida,
profano ejecutor de tus enojos.
Mísero amante, siempre desvalido,
que ni a tus ojos defendió la vida,
ni mereció la muerte de tus ojos.
