- LXIX - La planta del girasol...

Si al Sol miraba Ninfa, y más atenta
su lumbre adora Clicie transformada;
si en las ondas de rayos anegada,
o en el golde de luz arde sedienta;
adulta flor la inclinación violenta
reduce al escarmiento dedicada,
y en Teatro fondoso coronada,
victorias del destino representa.
Como siempre obstinado mi albedrío,
su primitiva ceguedad imita,
todo error, todo infancia, todo engaños;
y en menos disculpado desvarío,
sombra sigue, tiniebla solicita,
rebelde a la razón, sordo a los años.
