- XXVII - Anima la confianza de Celia con el ejemplo de la rosa

De esta que admiras rica de tributos,
que varias flores a su aliento ofrecen,
y reina de la selva la establecen
jurisdicción de imperios absolutos.
La fragancia, el color, los atributos,
que en púrpura soberbia resplandecen,
verás, que fugitivos desvanecen,
si atiendes a su ser breves minutos.
Tanto esplendor la usura codiciosa
de las horas usurpa a quien tributa,
por instantes los réditos mortales.
No temas Celia, al tiempo milagrosa
se opone tu belleza, y no es segura
la edad, sino en efectos naturales.
