- CII - Al incendio del Escorial
Arda el gran edificio, o sus primores
asolen los incendios más robustos,
ruega Laurecio en medio de los sustos,
que causan amenazas superiores.
Sean con tal exceso los rigores,
que algún error los presumiera injustos,
cuando se vieron castigar los justos,
para el ejemplo de los pecadores.
No admita dudas el talento humano,
cuando enseñe la Fe con evidencia,
que en Dios es infalible la justicia.
Pues permite su Imperio Soberano,
que alguna vez padezca la inocencia,
para que se redima la malicia.
