- XXV - Al enojo de la fortuna en sus penas

Desatad mi veneno convertido,
amargos ojos, en amargo llanto,
no por burlar mi mal, mas porque es tanto
que le niega lugar al que ha nacido.
¿Qué, tristes, receláis donde ha perdido
el alma al pecho? El pecho al alma espanto,
veneno os causa. ¿Fuego teméis tanto?
¡Dejad que corra tras quien causa ha sido!
De mis injurias y tu brazo escudo,
viste, ¡oh Fortuna!, el corazón deshecho,
un consuelo: mis penas inmortales.
Deshicísteme, en fin: tu brazo pudo;
y, en deshacerme, haces pueda el pecho
no temer más ni darle tú más males.
