Hambriento desear, dulce apetito,
hambriento apetecer, dulce deseo,
detened el rigor, ¡ay!, ya, pues veo
mi negro día en vuestro enojo escrito.
Mientras con más calor os solicito
vuestro ardiente querer, mi dulce empleo,
por más que el bien a vuestro bien rodeo,
huye el remedio término infinito.
Sin duda moriré, pues que mis bienes
alimentan hambrientos a mis males:
tú, dulce apetecer, la culpa tienes.
Muriendo, de sus penas desiguales,
pecho, será imposible te enajenes:
hijos del alma son, son inmortales.
