- XXVI - A la planta de Celia en Guadalete

De tributos y mares olvidado
(que es natural en Guadalete olvido),
cuanto un tiempo corriente, detenido,
miró a Celia, de juncia coronado.
Y celoso de ver había estampado
la playa el pie pequeño, el atrevido
hurtósela, y confiesa haber corrido,
después del dulce robo, más salado.
Soberbio en su cristal y pensamientos,
olvidando sus márgenes, triunfante
estaba de la arena que bebía.
«Vámonos -dijo Celia-; de mi amante
nuevo conozco, ¡oh Fabio!, los intentos;
¡no te lleve, ¡ay Dios!, por prenda mía!».
