- XIV - A la sentencia que dieron a Sansón los jueces
Verse duda Sansón, y duda el lazo
lo que él; duda Sansón, duda y procura
hurtarse fuerte en vano a la atadura,
ella tiembla temor y fuerza el brazo.
Aquel valiente, aquel que de un abrazo
puso puertas a un monte y su espesura,
flaca para él, un tiempo, ligadura
es a su libertad fuerte embarazo.
Llega el fiero juez, condena a muerte
los ojos. Y él, risueño y sosegado,
dijo (más que su fuerte brazo, fuerte):
«Si tres veces de Dalila burlado
sus engaños no vi, juez, advierte
que ya de ellos estaba despojado».
