- II - A un chopo, semejante en desgracia a su amor

Remataba en los cielos su belleza,
alivio, a un alto chopo, a un verde prado,
amante de una vid, y de ella amado,
que amor halló aposento en su dureza.
Soberbia, exenta altiva su cabeza
era lengua de céfiro enojado;
del verde campo rey, pues coronado
daba leyes de amor en su corteza.
Le robó su corona, airado, el viento;
sintió tanto su mal, que fue tornada
en verde oscura su esperanza verde.
Yo, sin los lazos de mi Celia amada,
¿qué mucho a mal me traiga un pensamiento,
si un árbol me dio Amor que me lo acuerde?
