Enmudeció el Amor la pluma y mano;
volvió el Amor a pluma y mano, lengua,
¡ay de mí!, quiere llore, por mi mengua,
agravios de sus manos con mi mano.
Tal Guadarrama, por su escarcha cano,
agravios del sol llora cuando mengua
sus nevados tesoros; tal, sin mengua
mis ojos trata Amor, Amor tirano.
Llorad, ojos, llorar, pues desatando
parte del mal, por quien estoy muriendo
irá en mi pecho su furor menguando.
En vano alivio con llorar pretendo,
si vuelve al pecho, por su mal, volando,
lo que de él sale, por su bien, corriendo.
