- XXI - A Filis habiéndose quebrado el espejo
Quebrase el consultor de tu hermosura;
porque no le quedó que ver con verte,
ni más felicidad que obedecerte;
ay del que no la alcanza, y la procura.
Que vida, Filis, estará segura
del golpe vivo de tu vista fuerte,
si el intérprete claro que te advierte
con tu forma, de ti, no se asegura.
Aun puedes más, que matas con los ojos;
que alcanzan a ti misma los desdenes,
dando a quien te retrata sentimiento.
Suelen templarse en el cristal enojos,
y tú le despedazas; porque tienes
natural, por lo dulce, más violento.
