O tú dentro del túmulo Gigante
que horrendo aunque oprimido de montañas
haces, bien que en tu misma ofensa dañas,
armas del peso, espanto del semblante.

Tú que con pecho horrores anhelante
pirámides silvestres desentrañas
y queriendo asombrar al sol te engañas
pues quedas fulminado fulminante.

Las piedras con que monte das al viento
el humo con que nieblas a la tierra
sólo cenizas son, es humo sólo.

Tus mismas confusiones tu elemento,
para el cielo fantástica tu guerra,
los rayos son de Júpiter y Apolo.
