Soneto
Dame el peñasco, Sísifo cansado,
y tú, infelice Tántalo, tu pena;
dame, Prometeo, el águila y cadena,
herido el pecho, y al Caúcaso atado.
Dame, Ixión, la rueda en que, amarrado,
a eterno giro el cielo te condena,
y llevad todos la miseria ajena
de un corazón en celos abrasado.
Aliviaréis el peso a mi tormento,
mientras al trueco y desigual porfía
fuere vuestra paciencia poderosa.
Y cuando a alguno falte el sufrimiento,
no juzgará después tan rigurosa
la pena suya, experto de la mía.
