Otras dos veces del furioso Noto
probé las iras en el mar turbado,
y no volver jamás a tal estado,
arrepentido, prometí y devoto.
De la deshecha jarcia y leño roto
di los despojos al altar sagrado,
y apenas pisé el puerto deseado
cuando olvidé el peligro y rompí el voto.
Y ahora, que continua y fiera lucha
mar y vientos se esfuerzan en mi daño,
y sus enojos aplacar porfío,
mis sordas voces sin piedad escucha
el justo cielo. ¡Oh inútil desengaño!
¡Cuán tarde llegas al remedio mío!
