- LXXXII -

Colgado está de un caso el pensamiento,
que entre esperar y miedo se sostiene.
Compone, cada vez que al pleito viene,
el esperar, más fuerte su argumento.
De deseoso, el triste sentimiento
no osa temer; mira que temor tiene:
sólo imagina aquello que conviene
por engañar un poco su tormento.
¿Qué haré yo, con mi triste sentido,
si acontece desastre a tanto amor?
¿Do estará el mal después de haber venido?
¿Cómo podré valerme en mi dolor
si ahora a cada paso estoy perdido
sólo en abrir las puertas al temor?
