El fuerte mal que sufro de esta ausencia,
gastando va mi triste sentimiento;
por otra parte, alivia el pensamiento
sólo ver que es posible la presencia.
Anda en esto tan cruda resistencia,
que de dolor el corazón no siento;
alguna vez despiértome al tormento,
y que veré mi bien doy por sentencia.
Revuelve y dice la desconfianza
que es trabajo, peligro y aun locura,
pasar con tan dudosa confianza.
Respondo yo: de ver tanta hermosura
no se sufre tener tanta esperanza;
bastarme debe sola el aventura.
