¡Oh muerte!, di, ¿qué esperas de llevarme
de mundo tan perverso y desdichado,
sin fe y sin lealtad, tan acabado
en todo el mal que no puede acabarme?
No tengo amigos con que consolarme,
porque el intento de ellos va doblado;
y así se dobla el mal y el triste hado
con encubrirlo sin poder quejarme.
La buena orden toda ya descrece,
y todo cuanto es bueno se desama,
las buenas horas malas veo se mudan;
respeto no se tiene a quien merece,
ni se tiene respeto a quien bien ama,
ni amigos se respetan ni se ayudan.
