O gran fuerza de amor, que así enflaqueces
los que nacidos son para ser fuertes,
y les truecas así todas sus suertes,
que presto los más ricos empobreces!
O piélago de mar, que te enriqueces
con los despojos de infinitas muertes!
Los tragas, y después luego los viertes,
porque nunca en un punto permaneces.
O rayo, cuyo efecto no entendemos,
que por dentro nos dejas abrasados,
y de fuera, sin mal, sanos nos vemos!
O dolencia mortal, cuyos extremos
son menos conocidos y alcanzados
por los tristes que más los padecemos!
