Cuando de amor me aprieta algún tormento,
y deja en mí la llaga algo rompida,
no puede ser que en mi apenada vida
no quede algún disgusto o sentimiento.
Despierta el alma en este pensamiento,
y sintiéndose casi entristecida,
de mí y de sí se halla tan corrida,
que es otro nuevo mal su corrimiento.
Dice que no conozco yo mi estado;
que no sé estar en lo que debo, fuerte;
yo lo confieso, y voy tan castigado,
que todo mi disgusto se convierte
en nunca más quedar ya disgustado,
puesto que llegué al punto de la muerte.
