Como el triste que a muerte está juzgado,
y de esto es sabedor de cierta ciencia,
y la traga y la toma en paciencia,
poniéndose al morir determinado.
Tras esto dícenle que es perdonado,
y estando así se halla en su presencia
el fuerte ejecutor de la sentencia
con ánimo y cuchillo aparejado:
así yo, condenado a mi tormento,
de tenerle tragado no me duelo,
pero, después, si el falso pensamiento
me da seguridad de algún consuelo,
volviendo el mal, mi triste sentimiento
queda envuelto en su sangre por el suelo.
