Delgadamente amor trata conmigo,
con dulzuras ablanda el sentimiento,
porque mejor con el primer tormento
me derrueque y me deje sin abrigo.
En viendo el bien, a Dios doy por testigo,
un sobresalto viene al pensamiento,
que el temor basta a ser mi enterramiento
aunque nunca tuviese otro enemigo.
Cobrado miedo a cualquier aventura;
mi sentido consigo se aborrece;
resiste a todo, por tentar su cura,
a su dolor, porque es contra natura,
y al deleite, pues tanto le enflaquece,
que le dispone para más tristura.
