MAJOR BUTLER. — First dress: Gentleman's costume of that period — dark square-out coat — waistcoat — buff knee-breeches — Hessian boots — round slouched hat, with white cockado — cloak. Second dress: Full continental costume.

ROBINSON. — Coarse gray coatee — dark linsey-woolsey trousers — shoes — broad-rimmed round slouched hat — red neckerchief, carelessly tied — deer-skin pouch, powder horn, and long rifle — brown wig, tied in long que behind.
